Salesforce and Anthropic launch Claudeforce, Claude becomes default in Agentforce

On August 26, Salesforce and Anthropic jointly announced the Claudeforce strategic partnership, making Claude the default reasoning engine for Agentforce, Agentforce Vibes, Agentforce Coworker, and Agent Builder, while also becoming the default model for Slack AI, Slackbot, and Salesforce's internal engineering tools.
In the reverse direction, Salesforce ships as a plugin inside Claude with a first batch of 37 prebuilt sales skills covering meeting preparation, deal health checks, pipeline reviews, and record updates. Salesforce in Claude launched open beta in September, with each request executed under the user's OAuth login, with permissions strictly following existing enterprise governance.
Salesforce's Q2 earnings showed Agentforce annual contract value surpassed $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year-over-year. Salesforce expects to spend roughly $300 million on Anthropic tokens in 2026, with an additional ~$3 billion equity stake in Anthropic. Salesforce shares rose approximately 22.6% on the news.
