Business Insider reported on September 24, citing people familiar with the matter, that clinical decision AI search company OpenEvidence closed a $250 million round at a $15 billion valuation led by Andreessen Horowitz and Byers Capital, with multiple health systems participating as strategic investors. The valuation is a 25% step-up from the $12 billion Series D in January 2026 and double the $6 billion Series C in October 2025. OpenEvidence has raised more than $1 billion in total over the past year.

Founded in 2022 by Daniel Nadler, OpenEvidence offers physicians a natural-language clinical decision search engine returning AI-generated answers with citations to peer-reviewed journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. The platform is free for verified clinicians in the U.S. and Canada via NPI authentication. Roughly 40% of U.S. physicians log in daily across more than 10,000 hospitals and medical centers. The platform supported about 18 million clinical consultations in December 2025, up six-fold year-over-year.

On the same day OpenEvidence announced an expanded operating alliance with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, integrating OpenEvidence into MSK's Epic workflows and OncoKB database, alongside an entry into rare-cancer drug development. The first candidate is expected to enter clinical trials before year-end, with three to five additional candidates planned for 2027. One day earlier OpenEvidence also announced a collaboration with Anthropic extending clinical decision support to roughly 100 low- and middle-income countries. Sacra estimates OpenEvidence's annualized revenue reached approximately $300 million by mid-2026.
