OpenAI working on new $30B raise at $1.25T valuation ahead of IPO

CNBC and Bloomberg report OpenAI is in talks for a roughly $30B round at a $1.25T pre-money valuation, led by Coatue with UAE investors, ahead of a formal IPO push.

CNBC and Bloomberg reported on October 22 that OpenAI is in talks for a round of roughly $30 billion at a pre-money valuation of about $1.25 trillion. Coatue is reported to be leading with participation from investors in the UAE, timed ahead of the company's formal IPO push.

For context, OpenAI's March round closed at about an $852 billion post-money valuation, while Anthropic's Series H in May was valued near $965 billion. If the round closes at a $1.25 trillion pre-money, OpenAI would become one of the highest valued companies globally.

Neither company commented on the specifics and OpenAI issued no formal statement. IPO timing, raise size and underwriters have not been disclosed.
