Mistral and Saudi HUMAIN sign multi-hundred-million-Euro sovereign AI deal
On August 25, Mistral and Saudi Arabia's PIF-owned HUMAIN signed a sovereign AI partnership covering Arabic models, cybersecurity and voice.
On August 25 in Riyadh, Mistral and HUMAIN, the AI company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, signed a partnership valued in the hundreds of millions of euros. The collaboration covers development and localization of AI models for Saudi Arabia and the wider region, with cybersecurity and voice as initial focus areas.
Both companies plan frontier models with high-performance Arabic language capabilities. Mistral will explore using HUMAIN's data-center infrastructure to support local compute needs. The deal targets sovereign AI, in which data, intelligence, compute, and operations remain under customer control. Mistral already operates Mistral Compute as an end-to-end infrastructure arm; this deal extends its reach eastward.
HUMAIN expanded its NVIDIA partnership in November 2025 to deploy up to 600,000 NVIDIA AI systems including GB300 platforms, signed a 500 MW+ data-center agreement with xAI, and an AWS deal to manage up to 150,000 GPUs. HUMAIN, AMD, and Cisco also formed a joint venture targeting up to 1 GW of AI infrastructure by 2030.
