Manus parent raises over $500M on October 8 in first round after returning to independence

Butterfly Effect announced more than $500 million for Manus, led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund participating.

Manus parent Butterfly Effect announced more than $500 million in financing through WeChat on October 8. Boyu Capital and IDG Capital led the round, with existing investors Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund participating. Manus did not disclose the round valuation. TechCrunch noted a prior market report that the company was discussing a $500 million round at a $4 billion valuation, but that figure was not company confirmed. Manus announced a $2 billion acquisition agreement with Meta in December 2025. Chinese authorities ordered the transaction to be unwound in April 2026, and Manus resumed independent operations in August while deleting some user data under the separation terms. The company is reportedly considering a Hong Kong listing. Its annualized recurring revenue exceeded $100 million at the time of the Meta agreement. The new financing is its first outside capital injection after returning to independence.
