ByteDance folds TRAE and Coze into Doubao, plans standalone brand "Doubao Work"
ByteDance completed AI business integration on Aug 24, merging TRAE and Coze teams into Doubao and planning a standalone "Doubao Work" office product.
On August 24, ByteDance completed a new round of AI business integration, with TRAE and Coze teams fully merged into Doubao. The capabilities are converging on office scenarios, and the company plans to launch a standalone AI office product called "Doubao Work".
This marks ByteDance's third integration within the past month: Feishu, TRAE, and Coze have successively been brought under Doubao, signaling the entry of ByteDance's AI productivity business into a resource-concentrating phase.
At ByteDance's August mid-year all-hands meeting, CEO Rubo Liang summarized the company's business strategy as "high priority, thick trunk, long-term optimization", stating that the company would focus on three core businesses: AI, information platforms, and transaction services. He expressed hope that Doubao would also become a "trunk" AI business in the future.
