Anthropic plans IPO this year, targeting $2T valuation and over $100B raise

Anthropic began early investor meetings on Aug 24, targeting a $2 trillion valuation and over $100 billion raise, with public filing as soon as late August.

On August 24, multiple media outlets reported that Anthropic plans to launch its IPO this year, targeting a $2 trillion valuation and raising more than $100 billion, with public S-1 filing potentially as soon as late August. Anthropic has begun early test-the-water meetings with potential investors.

If successful, the Anthropic IPO would surpass SpaceX's June 2026 record of $1.77 trillion market cap and $85.7 billion raised, becoming the largest IPO in human history. Anthropic had confidentially filed an S-1 in June, with the previous private funding round in June valuing the company at $965 billion.

Anthropic simultaneously disclosed negative signals to investors. Two months after its June launch, Fable 5's enterprise customer spending share stood at only about 11%, surpassed by the smaller Opus 5 model. July annualized revenue was only $65 billion, below the most optimistic investor expectation of $80 billion. Anthropic also forecasts 2028 annualized revenue of $190-200 billion.
