Former Plaud exec Peter Mo's Ambi closes $26 million funding on October 12 for always-listening AI app

Former Plaud exec Peter Mo's Ambi announced on October 12 the close of $26 million in funding led by Luminous Ventures with Huaqin participating, for an always-listening AI app with over 50 employees and apps for iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch.

Ambi, an AI app founded by former Plaud executive Peter Mo, announced on October 12 the close of $26 million in funding led by Luminous Ventures with Huaqin participating. Luminous Ventures has previously invested in Meituan and Unitree Robotics. Ambi simultaneously released iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch apps that function like meeting recorders but can optionally capture ambient context all day. Its AI Agent promises to proactively surface suggestions and relevant knowledge during meetings based on calendars, meetings, knowledge bases, and web data. The desktop app in development will observe what the user works on and store key fragments, and an upcoming proprietary hardware device will include a screen, speakers, cameras, and microphones. The company has over 50 employees across San Francisco, Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen and is hiring for marketing/sales roles and speech recognition AI engineers. The CEO emphasized that ambient data capture is off by default and can be turned off at any time; the company says it does not store user recordings and encrypts all data.
