Anthropic renames Claude Max 20x to Ultra and removes the five-hour session limit for verified accounts
Anthropic changed the naming of Claude's paid plans for individual consumers. The former Max 20x plan is now the Ultra plan at the same 200 dollars per month, and accounts that pass verification no longer face a five-hour session usage limit, though weekly limits still apply.
Anthropic changed the naming of Claude's paid plans for individual consumers. The former Max 20x plan is now the Ultra plan at the same 200 dollars per month, and accounts that pass verification no longer face a five-hour session usage limit, though weekly limits still apply. The former Max 5x plan is simplified to Claude Max at 100 dollars per month. Ultra includes 10 times the Pro plan's weekly usage, carries priority access to new models, features and products, and is offered only as a monthly subscription. Anthropic said it will automatically verify Ultra accounts using factors such as account and payment history with no action required from the user, and that phone verification at checkout is a separate step that does not remove the limit; accounts that do not see a Current session entry under Settings > Usage have been verified. The rename and limit change shift what separates the highest paying tier from rate throttling toward usage multiples and priority access.
