Zhipu ZCode surpasses 1M users and ships four new modules, GLM Coding Plan gets 1.5x quota bonus

On August 11, Zhipu AI's coding product ZCode announced a major upgrade, officially launching four new modules — Goal, Subagents, RemoteControl, and Idle Tasks — and surpassing 1 million users for the first time.

Goal supports multi-level objective systems for task decomposition and automated progression; Subagents allows independent sub-agents to be created for parallel complex task handling; RemoteControl breaks local-runtime limits with cross-device remote control; Idle Tasks uses intelligent scheduling to fully utilize device idle time for non-real-time tasks. The four modules form a closed technical loop covering task planning through execution optimization.

To celebrate the user milestone, Zhipu announced an immediate reset of GLM Coding Plan quotas for all users, restoring full balance. From now through August 31, 2026, plan users get an additional 1.5x limited-time quota bonus, combined with a 30% effective token uplift from cache optimization, pushing total usage to up to 1.8x normal.

Zhipu's in-house Z.ai CodeBench benchmark shows that GLM-5.2 with ZCode achieves a 2.39 percentage point higher overall task pass rate than with Claude Code. ZCode's advantage concentrates in complex tasks that require cross-file, cross-stage collaboration to completion. As background, Zhipu has built a 1GW domestic AI compute infrastructure with over 50,000 domestic compute chips currently running.

In addition, Zhipu ended the long-standing GLM Coding Plan purchase restrictions at the end of July and rolled out a new pricing scheme with significant price increases. Combined with the August 11 ZCode upgrade, Zhipu is simultaneously pushing forward hardware infrastructure investment and commercialization for high-value coding scenarios.
