Tencent's Hunyuan Hy4 Preview goes open-source, 770B params / 49B active
Tencent Hunyuan released Hy4 Preview open-source on Aug 28: 770B total / 49B active params, 1M context, covering software engineering, office analytics, game dev, and research.
On August 28, the Tencent Hunyuan team simultaneously open-sourced the Hy4 preview model on Hugging Face and Tencent Cloud TokenHub. The model uses a MoE architecture with 770B total parameters, 49B activated parameters, and native 1M token context, covering four major scenarios: software engineering, office analytics, game development, and scientific research.
In a blind test by 163 internal experts across 203 engineering tasks, Hy4 Preview scored an average of 2.99, slightly outperforming GLM-5.3 (2.92) and Kimi K3 (2.94). Hy4 Preview can also generate game prototypes through conversation, and pushed the lower bound on the volume of the three-dimensional Blaschke-Lebesgue geometry problem to 0.41104.
Tencent plans to integrate Hy4 into its productivity tools (including CodeBuddy and WorkBuddy). The model is also available on OpenRouter and Tencent Cloud TokenHub, with developers able to call the FP8 quantized version under open-source frameworks.
