XPeng Robotics closes $900M Series A at $6.3B valuation, industry record
On August 24, XPeng Robotics closed a $900M Series A at $6.3B+, IDG and Gaorong led with Alibaba and Tencent as strategic investors.
On August 24, XPeng disclosed its robotics business closed a Series A above $900M at a post-money valuation exceeding $6.3B, the largest single private-equity round in China's embodied intelligence sector. IDG Capital led with Gaorong Capital participating; Tencent and Alibaba joined as strategic investors. XPeng Motors retains majority control.
XPeng itself and executives subscribed to roughly $300M of the round ($200M from XPeng Motors and $100M from executives' personal holdings). Capital is earmarked for IRON humanoid mass production. IRON features 76 degrees of freedom across its body, 21 in each hand, and 2,250 TOPS of on-device compute from three proprietary Turing chips.
XPeng plans to begin mass production of IRON before the end of 2026 and to begin sales to retail and service industry customers in 2027. For Robotaxi, the company targets driverless passenger operations in 2027.
