xAI Grok 4.7 lands on AWS Bedrock with 500K context and four reasoning tiers
AWS announced on September 28 that xAI Grok 4.7 is available on the Bedrock catalog, with a 500K-token context window, text and image input, and four configurable reasoning-effort levels.
Unite.AI reported on September 28 that AWS added xAI’s Grok 4.7 to the Amazon Bedrock model catalog, with a 500K-token context window, text and image input, and four configurable reasoning-effort levels. Grok 4.7 was first released by SpaceXAI on September 21, originally available only in Cursor, Grok Build, the Grok API, and through third-party coding harnesses.
xAI positions Grok 4.7 as a frontier model for coding, long-running agents, and knowledge work. The company says Grok 4.7 was trained with a longer RL run over a harder mix of tasks weighted toward many-hour problems, and credits that training with two abilities: better self-verification and more efficient use of the 500K-token context window on long tasks. xAI also says the model was trained to natively understand the Grok Bot harness.
On independent evaluation, Artificial Analysis measured Grok 4.7 at an Intelligence Index of 46 vs 44 for 4.6, Coding Agent Index 56 vs 47, AA-Briefcase Elo 1,657 vs 1,546, GDPval-AA Elo 1,695 vs 1,605, AA-Omniscience Index 32 vs 30, and hallucination rate 29 percent vs 34 percent. xAI reports it has begun giving selected cyber-security partners invite-only access to Grok 4.7’s red-team capabilities for defense research. Pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, with a fast variant at twice the price.
