Canva releases its first in-house image generation model Canva Craft at up to 2K resolution
Canva launched Canva Craft, its first in-house image generation model, using a two-stage pipeline with up to 2K resolution across 30 aspect ratios, trained primarily on Canva's own templates and assets, with API and MCP access.
Canva released its first in-house image generation model, Canva Craft, on October 22. The company describes a two-stage pipeline that establishes composition before generating pixels, with output up to 2K resolution across 30 aspect ratios spanning social vertical formats through print horizontal.
Canva says training drew primarily on its own template and asset library, a different path from general image models, with the goal of stronger brand consistency. The entry point sits in the Dream Lab tab, and results can be refined further in the editor.
Faster Craftfast and Craft-ultrafast versions were announced without timelines. For third-party access Canva will expose the model through its own API and MCP interfaces. No API pricing has been published.
