OpenAI models are coming to Google Cloud

OpenAI expands model distribution beyond Azure and Oracle as Google Cloud customers can pay with cloud spend commitments.

OpenAI announced on October 21 that its frontier models and Codex agentic workflows will arrive in Google Cloud Model Garden within the coming weeks, with early access available by request. This is the first time OpenAI has extended model distribution beyond Microsoft Azure and Oracle. Google Cloud customers can purchase through Google Cloud Marketplace and apply existing GCP spend commitments. Specific model names were not disclosed. OpenAI president Greg Brockman said the partnership deploys its strongest models where customers already work, while Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian emphasized broad model choice for regulated industries. The post closes by stating that Microsoft remains OpenAI primary cloud partner.
