NVIDIA teams with six Wall Street firms on AI compute financing platform targeting $500B

Jensen Huang announced on Aug 17 that NVIDIA will team with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Goldman Sachs, and Brookfield on a financing platform targeting $500B.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced on August 17, 2026 via a signed article that NVIDIA has signed a framework with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to establish an independent AI compute financing platform, targeting more than $500 billion of third-party capital over the coming years.

Under the agreement, NVIDIA will provide residual value guarantees of up to 25 percent on specific projects: if a project fails, NVIDIA absorbs losses from disposing of used GPUs. The platform prices NVIDIA's chips and data center designs as standard assets that can be securitized and packaged for pension funds and insurers. Huang said NVIDIA has an option to support up to 25 percent of any single transaction, equivalent to as much as $125 billion.

CNBC on August 18 noted this marks a transition for NVIDIA from the one selling shovels in the AI boom to the one helping pay for them. The funding supports AI companies, cloud providers, enterprises, and governments building data centers based on NVIDIA chips.
