Moonshot's next flagship Kimi K3.1 expected to launch in October with multi-tier reasoning and Swarm collaboration
Wccftech reported on September 23 that internal Moonshot configuration files reveal Kimi K3.1 with Low/High/Max reasoning tiers and Swarm multi-agent coordination.
On September 23, technology media Wccftech and source MaxForAI reported that Moonshot has placed Kimi K3.1-related identifiers such as k3d1-agent in internal JSON and API responses. Configuration files show K3.1 will support Low, High, Max reasoning tiers, an Extra Long ultra-long-context option (up to 1M tokens), and for the first time an Agent mode, Swarm multi-agent coordination, and search plus batch task modes.
K3.1 is the successor to the July 27 Kimi K3 (2.8T total / 104B active MoE, native vision, 1M context) and retains core architectural features including Kimi Delta Attention and Attention Residuals. Industry watchers read the iteration as a shift in model competition from basic dialog capability toward autonomous and team-collaboration capability, aimed at consolidating Moonshot's position in coding and complex task handling.
