Microsoft on October 12 upgrades Copilot Notebooks with task delegation, in-place Office editing, and interactive reports
Microsoft on October 12 adds task delegation, in-place Office editing, interactive reports, expanded Teams and Outlook audio summaries, plus comment and debate modes to Copilot Notebooks, rolling out through the Frontier Preview Program.
Microsoft on October 12 introduces task delegation, in-place Office document editing, and interactive reports to Copilot Notebooks, evolving it from an information organization tool into an executable intelligent workspace. The new capabilities roll out through the Frontier Preview Program. Copilot Notebooks already aggregates documents, emails, and meeting transcripts and answers questions, generates study guides, and produces audio summaries from those materials. The upgrade lets users delegate tasks to Copilot and configure recurring automations such as daily briefs and weekly status reports. In document handling, users can open and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files directly from the notebook without switching to the Office client. A new interactive report feature adds charts and filters for exploring underlying data. Audio summaries expand to cover Teams conversations and Outlook messages, while comment and debate modes help users consider material from multiple angles. Copilot can recommend suitable documents and slides from existing materials and lets users switch between OpenAI and Anthropic models.
