Meta launches Enterprise AI Platform, ex-MongoDB CEO Chirantan CJ Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer

Meta CEO Zuckerberg announced on September 28 the Meta Enterprise Platform bundling Muse Agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code. Former MongoDB CEO Chirangan CJ Desai joins as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer reporting to Zuckerberg. Pricing not disclosed.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on September 28 the formation of Meta Enterprise Platform, bundling Muse Agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code under a unified enterprise platform. Former MongoDB CEO and president Chirantan CJ Desai joins as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer reporting directly to Zuckerberg. Desai previously led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as president and COO.

Among the initial products in the platform, Muse Agent is the consumer-facing agent that can send emails and book travel, Meta Business Agent is for business scenarios, Muse API provides programmatic access, and Muse Code is for coding scenarios. Meta AI product lead Nat Friedman said Muse was built from the ground up by Meta and draws inspiration from OpenClaw in product design but is not a code-level collaboration.

Meta did not disclose in the announcement which products are currently available through the new platform, how they work together, what they cost, or what contractual and administrative controls enterprise customers will receive. Current Meta security documentation acknowledges that its architecture cannot technically prevent Meta from accessing information in user virtual machines when needed. The upcoming Confidential VM is designed to prevent such access through encryption but is not yet available in Muse. A Mac Muse vulnerability discovered by security researcher Patrick Wardle in September was patched within a day.

Since launching on September 22, the consumer Muse has surpassed 3.4 million downloads (Sensor Tower estimate) and reached #1 in the US Apple App Store and Google Play Store in its first two weeks. Market attention to the enterprise version centers on whether Meta can combine the consumer-desired agent experience with the visibility, control, and data protection enterprises need, especially given the previous exits of Workplace (announced shutdown in 2024, closed May 2026) and Horizon Workrooms (closed February 2026), which leave enterprise buyers with questions about long-term commitment.
