Google launches Gemini 3 Deep Think, Ultra subscribers only
Gemini 3 Deep Think launched December 8, HLE 41%, ARC-AGI-2 45.1%, ~$250/month, drawing Pro-user backlash.
Google officially released the Gemini 3 Deep Think AI model on December 8, available exclusively to the top Google AI Ultra tier (~$250/month). The model derives from Gemini 2.5 Deep Think (gold medalist at IMO and ICPC World Finals) and uses parallel reasoning to attack multiple solution paths simultaneously.
Deep Think scores 41% on Humanity's Last Exam and 45.1% on the ARC-AGI-2 visual and code puzzle test, both among the best current models. It supports multimodal input of text, image, and code with a 1M token context window, suited to software debugging, scientific modeling, and data analysis.
Because it is exclusive to Ultra with no trial quota for Pro users, the pricing strategy drew widespread Pro-user backlash. Industry observers contrasted it with OpenAI still giving Plus users 100 weekly o3 calls, judging Google's premium push as overreaching.
