Elon Musk promises on Oct 15 to 'make you whole' if Grok messes up a purchase or leaks credit card info
Musk pledged on X to make users whole for Grok mishaps, while claiming such incidents 'have never happened yet.'
On October 15, Elon Musk posted on X pledging to 'make you whole' if xAI's Grok makes a mistake during a purchase or leaks credit card information. Musk also claimed in the post that such incidents 'have never happened yet.'
The pledge comes directly after the October 12 Grok demo of 'snap credit card photo and auto-purchase' functionality on X. The day after the demo, OpenAI executive Tibo publicly mocked the feature. Amazon and other e-commerce platforms have implemented technical blocks against Grok auto-access. On October 16, Musk renewed the make-whole pledge on X.
Musk's pledge has renewed discussion of his pattern of similar commitments — including covering legal bills for unfairly fired employees and multiple delivery predictions for Robotaxi and Tesla's new Roadster — whose actual fulfillment has been uneven.
