ByteDance Doubao Work launches on October 14 data import and sync, supports ChatGPT and Claude Code migration

ByteDance's Doubao Work desktop client announced on October 14 a data import and sync feature that supports one-click migration of task preferences, skills, connectors, working memory, projects and conversations from ChatGPT, Claude Code and ByteDance's own Trae Work, preserving original context.

ByteDance's Doubao Work desktop client announced on October 14 a data import and sync feature. Users can one-click migrate accumulated task preferences, skills, connectors, working memory, projects and historical conversations from ChatGPT, Claude Code and ByteDance's own Trae Work into Doubao Work; imported conversations preserve their original context so users can pick up where they left off without re-explaining background. Doubao Work launched August 25 as ByteDance's desktop office agent product, positioned against Tencent's WorkBuddy, and offered 30-day free subscriptions for all users at the end of September. The update also ships three small features: select a sentence segment and add a note that goes into the input box with the original text and question; click "Continue in a new conversation" to start fresh while preserving old context; and a right-side summary panel summarising running tasks and delivered outputs. The upgrade puts Doubao Work into the AI migration race that several vendors are contesting simultaneously.
