Anthropic releases Claude Opus 4.1 as a drop-in upgrade to Opus 4

Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.1 on August 5, 2025 as a drop-in replacement for Opus 4, with superior performance and precision on real-world coding and agentic tasks. It handles complex multi-step problems with more rigor and lets developers run long-running coding tasks in the background via Claude Code. Opus 4.1 kept the Opus pricing range and paved the way for later 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7 iterations.
