Claude Code standard weekly quota rises 25% on Sept 14, net 17% cut from current

Anthropic announced Claude Code standard weekly quota rises 25% permanently from Sept 14, but with the current 50% promo expiring, net ~17% reduction vs today.

On August 30, Anthropic announced that Claude Code standard weekly quota will rise permanently by 25% from September 14, covering Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise tiers.

Because the temporary +50% promotion in effect since May also ends on September 14, the new standard is actually about 17% lower than the current temporary level. The adjustment drew "raise disguised as a cut" criticism from some users.

Anthropic said it is working on improving usage visibility and controls so users not only face a higher cap but also have clearer insight into consumption. The change hits developers and teams that heavily use Claude Code hardest, with some teams' weekly budget shrinking by nearly a fifth.

Almost in parallel with the Claude Code quota adjustment, Anthropic on August 27 announced that the $2/$10 Sonnet 5 introductory price is permanent, and the planned $3/$15 standard price effective September 1 no longer applies. Anthropic holds the line on mid-tier model pricing but tightens coding-agent quotas, reflecting differentiated pricing strategy across SKUs.
