Anthropic released Claude Code 2.1.233 on August 14, adding four targeted capabilities. GitLab merge request URLs now work natively in the worktree flag and claude agents view, displayed as !N notation.
The new apps gateway forward_user_identity toggle is opt-in and lets enterprise teams attribute API spend to individual users. The CLAUDE_CODE_TOOL_MEMORY_LIMIT environment variable is opt-in and adds Linux memory cgroup limits to Bash tool commands, capping memory for runaway shell processes. The feature is Linux-only and targets teams running multiple parallel Claude Code sessions on shared infrastructure where uncapped shells could crowd out other work.
The new CLAUDE_CODE_WEBFETCH_CACHE_TTL_MS environment variable controls how long WebFetch results are cached per session. Anthropic continues strengthening Claude Code's enterprise developer experience. This update follows the July permanent Sonnet 5 price cut.
