Apple Intelligence reportedly launching in China with iOS 27.3 in December, without latest Siri AI
Bloomberg reports Apple will launch partial Apple Intelligence features in China via iOS 27.3 in December, without the latest Siri AI.
On October 15, Bloomberg reported that Apple will launch partial Apple Intelligence features in China via the iOS 27.3 update in December, but the initial release will not include the latest Siri AI.
Apple Intelligence has been rolling out in stages since 2024 via iOS 18.1 across the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and Japan. The China version is expected to use the same Apple Foundation Models architecture, but local compliance requirements — including generative AI service filing and data export compliance — make Apple's integration with local Chinese partners a key factor.
The report did not disclose the launch partner list. China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and domestic cloud providers are all potential partners, though Apple has historically kept partner selection low-key.
