On August 25, Anthropic announced unified memory between Claude Cowork and chat. Users previously had to re-explain project context, manager preferences, and client history across the two surfaces. With the change, when Cowork runs a task in the cloud, what Claude remembers from chat is there, and vice versa.
Per Anthropic's explanation, sensitive topics (health, beliefs, and similar) are not saved to memory by default, but users can enable those subjects in Memory settings. Unified memory is on by default for Free, Pro, and Max plans across web, desktop, and mobile; Anthropic recommends updating iOS and Android apps to the latest version.
Alongside the memory update, Anthropic rolled out Morning Brief, a feature inside Cowork that delivers scheduled daily briefings sourced from email, calendars, Slack, Notion, and other work tools. Briefings can be scheduled as early as 8 AM local time and run on Anthropic's cloud regardless of device state. The capability is currently available to selected Max-plan users, with Anthropic signaling broader rollout pending feedback.
