Anthropic launches limited-time free weekly quota reset for Claude
On September 26 Anthropic launched a limited-time free weekly quota reset for Claude, allowing each user to manually reset their weekly usage once for free, available through October 22.
IT Home reported on September 26 that Anthropic introduced a "limited-time free quota reset" feature for Claude, allowing users to manually reset their weekly usage quota once for free after it is exhausted. The feature is expected to remain available through October 22.
Some Claude users can already see a button in the interface that resets the weekly quota. Pressing it refreshes the weekly allowance at no additional charge; if the user has also hit the five-hour usage cap, that cap is reset at the same time. The action does not change the underlying schedule of the user’s quota cycle — any new allowance gained through a mid-week reset still expires on the user’s regular weekly reset time.
Each user can use the reset only once during the promotional window and will not receive another free reset. Whether the feature continues after October 22 has not been announced. Anthropic’s framing strongly suggests the move is tied to promoting the new Opus 5.5 model, giving users a way to experience the upgraded default by extending their on-hand quota.
