Anthropic opens Claude plugin directory submission portal with MCP and GitHub bundle support
Anthropic launched a directory submission portal on September 25 letting developers on paid Claude plans submit MCP connectors or GitHub-hosted plugin bundles and track usage analytics after listing.
Anthropic launched the Claude plugin directory submission portal on September 25, two days after the Claude Marketplace itself debuted. The portal is open to developers on Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans and accepts two submission paths: a single remote MCP connector, or a GitHub-hosted plugin bundle combining MCP servers and Agent Skills. Claude Code plugins can additionally include LSPs, commands, hooks, and agents.
Submissions are automatically validated and safety-scanned, with developers able to track review status and recommended changes before choosing when to publish approved listings. Post-launch analytics expose installs by Claude product surface and version, plus discovery data including listing views and the searches that lead to them. Anthropic confirmed Claude supports the MCP 2.0 specification, including MCP Apps for interactive UI inside chat and Enterprise Managed Auth for zero-touch OAuth for enterprise customers. Anthropic plans to roll out a unified plugin discovery experience across Claude and Claude Code over the coming weeks.
The Claude directory already lists more than 2,000 plugins and connectors, including connections to Google Drive and Atlassian. Anthropic said millions of people connect Claude to their apps, work tools, and data every day. The portal follows the September 22 Claude Opus 5.5 launch and the September 23 Claude Marketplace announcement, completing the pipeline for third-party extensibility. Anthropic noted that review is ongoing, and developers remain responsible for compliance of already-listed plugins.
