Alibaba's Pingtouge launches Zhenwu V900 AI chip, single cluster scalable to 500,000 cards
At the September 24 Cloud Summit, Alibaba's Pingtouge unveiled Zhenwu V900, a chip 3x the compute of M890 with 215GB memory and 1.2TB/s interconnect bandwidth.
On September 24, Alibaba's Pingtouge officially unveiled the Zhenwu V900 AI chip at the 2026 Hangzhou Cloud Summit. The new chip delivers 3x the compute of the prior Zhenwu M890, paired with 215GB of HBM and 1.2TB/s interconnect bandwidth, with single-cluster scalability up to 500,000 cards. The next-generation Qwen4 is already in training.
Alibaba management disclosed that future Qwen4.5 and Qwen5 versions will scale to 5 trillion to 10 trillion parameters. Alibaba will invest heavily in AI infrastructure, targeting more than 20GW of total data center capacity under Alibaba Cloud operations globally by 2032. Morgan Stanley published a note the same day saying the 20GW target supports a path to about $240 billion of cloud revenue by 2032 and named Alibaba its top pick.
