MiniMax launches MiniMax Design multimodal creation Harness, pushes H3 video model to production

On August 20, MiniMax officially launched MiniMax Design, a multimodal creation Agent workspace that turns the capabilities of its in-house native multimodal video model H3 into commercial content productivity. MiniMax Design is a Harness product. When users put forward creation requirements, the Agent can understand goals, decompose tasks, and invoke corresponding models and Skills to complete asset processing, content generation, editing, and final delivery.

MiniMax Design is built around H3, distilling the understanding of capability boundaries, input modes, and usage methods into Agent and Skills. Its highlight feature "3D Director Desk" lets users arrange characters, adjust poses and camera positions in 3D space, and inspect scenes from different angles. Once users confirm composition and character relations, the system uses the result as reference for H3 video generation, moving trial-and-error into the storyboard phase. After shots are generated, MiniMax Design continues with auto-editing and subtitling, organizing scattered assets into complete videos.

MiniMax Design excels at commercial content tasks with clear objectives, multiple production steps, and continuous iteration. In KOC, UGC, e-commerce seeding, and product video scenarios, it understands product information and campaign goals, plans scripts and shots, then generates assets, edits, and subtitles, turning one set of product material into multiple usable versions quickly. The workspace is also compatible with ComfyUI workflows and local deployment.

Background: MiniMax listed on the HKEX in January 2026. On July 10 it announced plans to raise about HK$16 billion via share placement and convertible bonds, completed on July 16. Proceeds go to AI compute infrastructure, foundation model R&D, and global commercialization of Harness products.
