ByteDance Doubao phone assistant on October 14 ends SAEP review period; 151 third-party apps refuse integration

ByteDance's Doubao phone assistant announced on October 14 the end of its 30-day SAEP public review and will gradually open screen-automation permissions for third-party apps, but 151 apps including Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Taobao, Meituan, DeepSeek and Kimi explicitly refused integration.

ByteDance's Doubao phone assistant announced on October 14 the end of its 30-day Screen Automation Engagement Protocol (SAEP) public review period and will gradually open screen-automation permissions for third-party apps. The first rollout covers the Nubia M153 and Nubia Navi Ultra. Apps that have declared refusal will not be touched by the assistant; the rejection list covers Alibaba ecosystem (Taobao, Alipay, Amap, DingTalk, Quark), Tencent ecosystem (WeChat, WeCom, QQ, Yuanbao, Tencent Video), Meituan, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, NetEase Cloud Music, WPS, Baidu Maps, China Merchants Bank, the three major Chinese carriers, DeepSeek, Pinduoduo and others totaling around 151 apps. Developers can configure fine-grained allow/deny rules by app, page and operation intent through a technical interface, or submit forms and email requests; both declaration channels stay open and can be changed at any time, with the team committing to a response within three business days.
