OpenAI, Anthropic and Nvidia post record quarterly lobbying spend totalling nearly $6M

Quarterly lobbying filings released on October 22 show Nvidia spending $2.2 million, Anthropic $2.1 million and OpenAI $1.5 million, combining to nearly $6 million and setting a record for each, for the July through September period.
The three companies' lobbying agendas overlap heavily, centred on compute supply and export controls. Nvidia's focus is chip export rules, while Anthropic and OpenAI also touched other AI-related legislation. Notably this is the first quarter in which all three set records simultaneously.
